Also for mounds- pour boiling water in to them, too. That way you are sure to get the queen.
Another tip to keep them from coming in to the house is to lay down a barrier with either ground up chalk or Cinnamon. They won't cross it for some reason. | Wow, I never knew this!! I have problems with ants and mounds in the yard, too. I'm adding cornmeal to my grocery list right now. Thanks!!
