Not if you have registration papers from her breeder. Some breeders sell/place dogs with an agreement with the new owner that the dog is to be spayed/neutered and not bred. They will hold the registration papers until proof of the s/n has been provided. That's what was being referred to in this thread.
Whether or not you have to "have" her spayed depends on the agreement (if there was one) between yourself and your breeder.
