Grooming? Ha! I've got a live wire on my hands Hi, I'm new here and this is my first post.
I just adopted my second Yorkie - Daisy. sweetheart, of course. She is nine weeks old (I know - I've since learned that a reputable breeder would not let a puppy go until she is at least 10 to 12 weeks old but.......the deed is done).
My first Yorkie was a lamb - loved to be cuddled - and grooming her was a breeze. She would just lay on the table and sometimes even fell asleep during the grooming.
Not Daisy.
When I first saw Daisy at the breeders, I made sure that the puppy would lay still in my arms while I rubbed her tummy. I so wanted to be able to groom her myself.
I don't know what happened to that sweet Yorkie I first cuddled but somewhere along the line she became a live wire. Will NOT lay in my arms - unless she is completely worn out. She wiggles and fights until I let her down.
Has anyone any suggestions as to how I can "tame" her so that I can groom her?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
