When I got my Yorkie baby, I did not give her soft food. I think it is best to give them the hard food. You may want to check with your vet.
I brought my yorkie home to two big boxer brothers. It all went well. I just had a crate for her at the time and watched her really good when she was out with the boys. Later I got her a baby play pen.
I am getting a new yorkie baby on Friday so I also will be going through the same thing as you. I think my present yorkie will be jeaous for a while.
