Welcome Linda and early happy birthday!
"Parti" is an old a term used to describe two or more colors on a dog, with one of the colors being white.
It was due to the efforts of 2 people who owned non registered parti yorkies, from AKC registered traditional colored yorkie parents back in the 1990's, that AKC now allows parti color to be registered. These ladies felt it was time to no longer cull the parti color that kept showing up in a certain line of Yorkies. After a lengthy AKC investigation where old time breeders were interviewed and the DNA'ing 42 litters and as many living adults as possible from this kennel, AKC determined that parti color can show up in normal litters of yorkshire terriers.
Do you have parti colored yorkies? I look forward to seeing your photos.
