Yes, you are much better off to let her eat from the floor/mat, low plate, etc. I was feeding from a spoon and my hand until I realized I could be doing this forever! They will get hungry enough and will eat from whatever is there. I did switch to a high-grade canned food (no wheat or grains) and she loves it! Eats it right away instead picking at it for 20 minutes or so! I just leave a few pieces of kibble for her crunch at will. I also use an all natural dental spray to keep her teeth from developing plaque since she eats mostly soft food. She loves it and it is very easy use. If anyone is interested, it is "Denta Sure" and you can Google it on-line to order. There is another brand that is less expensive, but it contains alcohol and Denta Sure does not. No one said these little babies were low maintenance...but so worth the effort!
