I know she has no alergies now, i am just wanting to prevent any future if possible. My other Yorkie battled her whole life with them,as she was just seceptable.I took her to vet with every issue, and they were constant. I hope we can avoid allergies with Star if possible. I got my first dog when she was a baby, and when she passed she was 18 years, so i guess im doing somthing right/lol. Star is not in pain, i never would have known about her ear, except that out of habit from my other dog, I have always checked her ears constantly.I never would allow my baby to suffer in anyway, which is why i am like a crazed Mommy with a newborn/lol. Star has never had a appitite. Her Vets feel she is perfectly healthy weight & growth wise. Her parents were tiny, as are her siblings. I have read many articles about how the food quality can effect them later on, so am wanting her to be on a food that has a lower incedence of alergies, however my main concern is that she eats enough. Star never gets table scraps, and only gets an occasional treat & when training her. She is full of energy actually, so im sure it is as my daughter says, im just over protective. Thankyou for your advice, much appreciated,Kris

Okay, I understand now, you are trying to be proactive, and want to prevent problems before they ever start. We had to go with a medium rated food, because I had so much problem getting Joey to eat any of the highest rated foods. Since then some people have suggested sprinkling a little Parmesan cheese on the food to tempt them. He really loves his medium rated food, and has been thriving on it, he's very healthy and never has gas, vomiting or diarrhea, or any allergy problems, but I think much of this is due to his genetics, not the food. My point is that you should try to find a healthy food, but it will do little good if they won't eat it. On the other hand, a small 2 pounder doesn't need that much food, and perhaps, she's just isn't hungry. If she goes 24 hours without eating, I'd want to find a food she likes better, and you might want to measure how much you give her so you can see for sure how much she is eating.
