You say "ear has a slight odor starting" and this concerned me. All it takes is a drop or two of water in the canal, and an infection can develop, but this isn't food related. If Joey had any odor coming from his ear, I would take him to the vet, and it isn't clear if you have checked this out. I'm only trying to tell you that switching to a new food won't help with this. Many yorkies are fussy, and some days they don't eat as much as other days. How much are you feeding, and are you giving treats, or table scrapes, this can cause them to turn up their noses at their food. However, a sign of pain is loss of appetite, so that's another reason why the ear odor bothered me.
