I'm personally not a fan of docking any dog's tail. They just look so much cuter with it waving in excitement. I would love to see the AKC revise all their standards to reflect the lack of need for tail docking. I understand the initial reason behind it; rats grab on to anything long and defenseless so the tails were docked to prevent injury to the dogs doing their job. But since we don't use them that way any more, why should we still be doing it?

Can you imagine the uproar if the Miss America Pagent started requiring that all their contestants lob off one boob?
