I usually breed on the 12th and 14th day of showing color. And based on the knowledge that a female's eggs break down within 48 hours and the male sperm live up to seven days. A female could concieve any time from the day of the first breeding to a few days after the last breeding, however, anytime from fifty-six days to seventy-days okay provided none of the danger signals are apparent. And of course there have been incidents where a girl never begins labor. But, those instances are rare. |
Don't worry your caution is appreciated. It helps me gauge how worried I should be. I think she stood for him as early as 10 days after showing color, I hope and pray all this fuss is only because she was not ready and did not conceive until 2-4 days later (which would be accurate to the time that you normally breed your girls). We wait and see. I'll keep you updated but tomorrow is my limit for waiting this out
