This is for you to decide, however, I personally think it far better to commit bigamy than to have one pet feeling bitter and rejected, especially if your heart is split equally between the two.
Of course, if you secretly favour one pet, you can do one of two things. You can sit both pets down and discuss the situation honestly, or you can marry in secret*.
