I'm sure this would look good on a girl, and it also works well if you like to dress them. I've seen it on several girls, and I think Joey looks a little feminine, the topknot I guess, but ARCHIE's (Carol) dog Buddy has this same cut and it works on him too, in fact, it was her post that gave me the courage to go with this cut. Carol said it felt like cut velvet, and I was so afraid the shaved part would make the coat feel similar to naturally short-hair dogs, but the shaving doesn't make it bristly at all, and she's right, it does feel like velvet.
