Getting a sample might be very very tricky, so I hope they have their methods if I can't get one.

Get the vet checkup first before trying any "natural" remedies, as you may confuse the issue. She could have a UI or kidney stone, and those are things only the vet should treat. Once that is dealt with or ruled out you might look into natural or homeopathic remedies, but don't make that your first course of treatment.
