I know AAI is a tough call. Some are good candidates and some are not, and even with surgery comes tremendous risks. I think you have some very well qualified Neuro Specialists and I would lean towards how they guide you.
Also, any dog that screams, yelps, cry's or shivers are signs of pain, so please be keen to that, and make sure you have an emergency plan in place to get her to the hospital asap should a circumstance arrive
