Rhett's got to stay at the Vets Yesterday afternoon, Rhett started vomiting mostly clear mucous. He didn't eat much dinner, but he seemed playful. He slept all the way through the night, which is unusual for him.
This morning, he ate better (but didn't want to drink), but started the gagging/vomiting again. When I had him in his crate, he seemed to be breathing fast and was acting just generally uncomfortable. He also hasn't pooped since yesterday.
I took him in to the vet's office. His tummy was tender, so she did an xray. Nothing specific (obvious blockage) is showing up, but she's going to keep him, give him an IV, medication for the vomiting and do a barium swallow xray on him. She wants to see if he ingested something he shouldn't have. It's going to be a long day.
Keep him in your thoughts today. Hopefully nothing is seriously wrong. He still seem sooo little to me (though the little teapot weighed in at 5 lbs today!)
The hardest part for me was that we were in the same exam room where we lost our golden, Jasmine, 2 years ago. It was the first time I had been back in that room. It just broke my heart to be holding him there while he wasn't feeling well.
