Having the intestines on the outside rather than in the inside does happen. It is not a every day occurance, but it is not unheard of. It is so sad to see it though. There has not been any determination to date as to why this happens. Her kicking the runt out is common as well. She is only trying to focus on the strong, and not the weak. If you plan another litter maybe placing the mother in a inclosed whelping area would be better. I am glad to though that you still have to furbabies, Congratulations and good luck.
