What I did was set up an appt. for my puppy when no one else would be there, I only had her bathed, brushed out, and a sanitary & face trim... I stayed with her... this way she wasnt there very long, like she would be for a whole haircut but she got used to all the sounds of the equipment, etc. Then the next time I had a little more done and I left but I left my older dog with her, so that she would have someone familiar there. Even now I always take them together so that they have each other and I only leave them for as long as it takes for them both to be groomed. Good Luck! |
I did the same thing with louis! I also found a groomer that I could stand there and watch him be groomed and take him home straight after. Too many nightmare stories about groomers! Lucky I found one that not only adores them and who they adore but she now watches them during times we need to go out of town! Her facility is actually a horse ranch, grooming and boarding facility and her house is on the property. The babies stay with her at her house! So look, research, get referrals, ask friends and if you walk into a place no matter how posh or how nice the people seem if your gut tells you no walk out!
