Last summer was the first time in close to 30 years I went on a vacation and left my dogs. My Dtr is 24 and lives at home and I felt that my DH deserved a vacation as he was very patient with me not ever wanting to leave my babies. They did fine. I also had my nephew or sister come during the day as mine are use to eating around 2 and having someone home all the time. I paid my nephew to spend a couple of hours with them. I of course checked in a couple times a day! lol. We then took 2 mini vacations since and did the same thing. We are leaving for Tucson Saturday for 5 days and will do the same. I am more nervous this time as I have Nikki, the 13-15 year old male I recently took in and he is very attached to me and a terrible eater. I know between my sister, nephew and dtr it should be fine but you can't help worrying. I could not go if I had to board them as it would be so expensive and mine are very attached to the house. I would then opt for someone to come to my house. |
