I just went through all kinds of crap when we went on vacation at the beginning of this month (our first since getting Roxie).
First, I had a friend who volunteered to take her for the week at her house. Then, for some unknown reason, she backed out.
Then, we were going to board her at the vet, but it just broke my heart to think of her locked in a little cage all day for the week.
Finally, after hearing my desperation, my parents decided to take her at their house for the week. Everything went really well.
I have no idea what we will do the next time, but it caused us a lot of stress. I know my parents won't take her every time, so I have been researching local boarding services. It's pricier, but I guess it's better than her being locked in a little cage at the vet's.
