I free feed my 2 smaller dogs, when their bowls are empty I fill them. My two bigger dogs (beagle and sheltie) get 2 feedings a day, because both of them have put on weight in the last few months. My smaller dogs are suppose to get according to the bag of food 1/4 to 2/3 cups a day for dogs 3 to 10 pounds. I put a 1/2 cup in each of thier bowls when they are empty and it may take them up to 2/3 days to finish it. They do get about 2.5 ounces of canned in the a.m and p.m, so they generally use the dry food as a snack. How much is the bag saying to feed them?. Some dogs arent big eaters and only require a small amount of food. If they arent loosing wieght and are happy I wouldnt worry to much about it as long as they are eating.
