I agree. And I sure wouldn't pick a Chi for a young family with children.

Vet bills with two are double trouble. You are still in the "honeymoon" stage with Sadie since she is still a puppy. As they get older, dogs tend to rack up vet bills, especially toy breeds. Wait until dentals becomes a yearly thing. Around here they are about $300 w/pre op bloodwork. Or Sadie's knees.... Hopefully they won't get worse, but some do. LP surgery is in the thousands.

I personally would stick with one dog for awhile. You are just a newlywed and have said how much you and your husband like to travel and do fun things together. Now is the time to do that, before you have children. Having pets can tie you down as it's expensive to board them.
