I just got home from the vet.. She checked Gucci over and over and she couldn't find anything wrong with him. She didn't want to take any blood from him because she'd have to sedate him (he was wiggling way too much). She said that usually at around 6 months puppies start eating less, so that might be what's going on with Gucci, he's 5 months old.
It could also be that he's being picky with his food.. since I switched it over. So for the next few days.. I have to syringe feed him canned food that the vet gave me. It's called "Hill's Prescription Diet" Hopefully he'll be back to his old self soon ! |
Sedate him to draw blood? I have never had to have that done and I have had all types of pups! Oh...I take that back...a fear biter is one. They can take it from his neck if he is wiggly. No reason why they cannot hold him still for that! I would not be comfortable with a vet not doing lab work on my puppy! Has he ever had any labs drawn? Blood work is something that I always expect to be done when I have a sick pup...it is the very best for starters as a diagnostic tool.
