Orijen is a HUGE improvement over Royal Canin... Orijen is a really great food.
High protein is good for dogs as long as they dont have any health issues that prevent it, like Britster said, dogs were designed to eat meat... I had mine on a grain free but had to change when they were diagnosed with liver issues (not caused by the food!) I got my parents to put their toy poodles on grain free and they are going great, there has been a huge improvement in energy level, coat, etc.
