White or Blonde Yorkies?? Hello,
My name is Valerie and I am new to the wonderful world of Yorkies. I adopted a 7 year old yorkie from a rescue on Friday. So I have only had her for a few days. She comes from a tragic past where she was kept in a tiny crate and just bred over and over again. They even cut her vocal chords. When she came to the rescue she had a full supply of milk, proving that she had just had a litter of puppies and they either all died or were taken from her immediately and she was handed over the pound and then transferred to the rescue. It is a tragic story, but now she is with me and I love her more then anything and will show her nothing but kindness and love.
Anyway, my question comes from the fact that she is all white and I have never seen a white yorkie before. If I part the fur I can see that very near her body the hair is darker, more of a tan color, and in some spots looks like the normal steel/blue color I see so often. I'm wondering if her fur has been bleached by the sun while she was sitting out in her tiny crate for years or if it is just from poor nutrition. Or is she simply a blonde yorkie? Have you ever seen something like this? After a while on good food (blue buffalo holistic food) and proper grooming will the color grow back in, or are there really blonde yorkies? Thanks for the help. |
