I am positive no one on here is implying you are a bad mother, at all! Like I have needed to do for the past several months- I have had to ask myself if I could give Ellie the best care. I work full time, have two other pets, and commitment to Ellie's health has totally turned all of our priorities on end. There were dozens of nights i didn't sleep at all because Ellie couldn't breathe well in her body cast etc. There is no question I love Ellie and feel like I must care for her. However- on the days I felt so week, I leaned on Cathy Cyr's knowledge and experience with the AAI pup she took in to care for "Posey"- who has since been rehomed. Placing our babies in the care of someone like them mean they have the lifestyle that fits the constant care the pups need- and they are organized to accept donations for vet and hospital and surgery care. That is why they are a great back up. I have no idea the policy if you would receive your puppy back. I have never read the contract policy. But you can look on their site- to simply know how it works. I promise you this- YorkiesInc and other groups like YorkieRescue are Angels on earth for our babies...truly gifted at what they do. I am not one to tell anyone what to do. However I can say from experience you need to really watch your baby with the signs I mention- this is what we learned when Ellie had to have her body cast removed early due to breathing problems. Our surgeon said- the Steriods should be used in a limited space of time then took her off(Prednisone, for us) She does have days she yelps occasionally and gets sore. that is ok. but if she yelps consistently or cannot walk steadily...then the injury has done the damage. Then must be in body cast. or must have surgery. Period. We are not out of the woods with Ellie, never will be. Have to protect her every single day. I know you have done a terrific job doing the same. Just watch the signs and you will give her the care she needs.
