If I've been in there for a few minutes he's fine, but if I go upstairs and come back down he'll start barking at me. I love my puppy and I don't want him to be frightened of me. I just don't know what to do to convince him I'm not a threat. I give him treats and cuddle him when I pick him up and talk sweetly to him, but he still goes bonkers and always seems frightened of me. Help!
Are you sure it's fear and not excitement? These little guys are so smart, and know how to read us really well. My boy knows when I'm going to leave and gets upset and clingy. When I come home, he's learned to identify the sound of my car and is so happy to see me that he yipps. (he's normally a really quiet dog)
