oh my gosh!! hunter does the exact same thing and it scares me to death. I took him to the vet and asked them about it. They said it may be an upper respiratory infection so i have him on an antibiotic. They also said that there is a chance it could be a collapsing trachea as he also does it when he gets really excited or drinks his water too fast. Sometimes in the middle of the night he will do this breathing thing where it sounds like he's hyper ventilating and i have to wake him up and calm him down. I would probably take him to the vet if it gets worse. Since Hunter's been on the antibiotic he hasn't done it except when he was choking on his water.! good luck!!! i hope your puppy is ok !
