Boys are really odd birds, I bet he would "love to have it", but would at the same time feel sad that the dish wasn't where it was supposed to be.
He has a 10 year old son and won't be having anymore kids. His fiance decorated their home in a unique style all her own with beautiful things collected on their trips to different countries. This little candy dish would look so out of place, but I will ask them anyway. Better safe than sorry huh?
