Hmm, that's not a bad idea. I looked at an online poll, and it limited my choices to 20. Plus it required everyone to log in so you could avoid people voting multiple times. That's a pain.
The only problem I see with having people PM me the vote is that it takes the anonymous part out of it. Some people might prefer keeping their votes private.
