He can call the ER and they will tell him right, from all that comes into the ER they know what is urgent or can wait til morning to see the regular vet.
I have done this and they have even given me advice how to handle it myself or just until my vets office opens, and it was free.
Did the vet tell him to take him in on Tuesday ?
