You're right the first flight has to be within 10 days of the exam and the vet cert. But you must finish the return flight within 30 days of vet cert. issue.
I hope thats more clear. Also, Like Delta Airlines doesn't require a vet cert but if the state you're flying to does they will check on behalf of the state.
I know when we fly calif to vegas they check both ways. when we fly calif to texas they only check on the return flight. Doesn't matter, I never fly with out one.. Better to be prepared then told they won't let you on the plane.
