Animal Smiley 019 Any Advice would be appreciated!

Hello!

I was hoping someone in this forum could help me. I have a 16 week old yorkie puppy. I've had him for 8 weeks. The beginning was very hard, he got sick a lot but he has been healthy for a couple weeks now.

But I've noticed for about 4 days now that he seems to be lazy, like tired or uninterested in everything. It's hard to describe. He's eating well, poop is normal, hasn't thrown up or anything or symptom I can see. He's not lethargic like he won't move at all but he has changed. He no longer runs around like crazy and he seems to be sleeping a little more. The word I would use is probably calm. He just seems too calm. Especially when I compare to how he was 2 weeks ago. He would run like crazy if he was allowed all around the house, he would jump up and down when someone got home. He also is no longer very interested in being carried. I was trying to research information on stages of development and I read something that they go through a fear stage at 4 months. Could anyone tell me exactly what should be expected in this stage?

I thought about taking him to the vet but I know they will likely not be able to tell me anything just from looking at him and would probably just have a bunch of tests done on him. I am tight on money so I only want to take him if it's necessary and not if this is normal behavior. I've never had a puppy before so I honestly have no idea what to expect. I figure maybe he's growing up and become more independent but I really don't know.

I know there's a lot of people with a lot of experience on this site so I wanted to hear input as to what could be the reason for this change in my puppy.

Thank you so much for your help!

Debbie
