Anyways, YES I trust my Vet and her amazing credentials and would take her advice any day of the week, but also like you do MY own research too on anything I have questions or concerns about because YES they are OUR babies and it gives you more of a piece of mind researching issues yourself as well. I consider myself very lucky to have such a wonderful vet with amazing credentials who also owns Yorkies too and understands the breed.

The Bordatella is the only non-core my Vet recommends as well. My questions are though that I read so many people HIGHLY suggesting to NOT get it and was curious as to why they HIGHLY recommend not getting the Bordatella shot. Yes, the over-vaccinating thing can be a reason why they highly suggest not getting the Bordatella shot but I wanted to hear there thoughts on it as well and the reasons why they highly recommend not getting the shot.
my parents dog had been getting intranasal for 7 years - he went in for his shots a year ago christmas and they decided to give him the bordatella shot as he had a closed muzzle and rather than putting an open nose muzzle on him as he is feisty silky terrier they gave him the shot instead - now this dog has had NO HEALTH ISSUES sturdy guy - the only thing different was this shot and he was pooping blood, vomitting blood and was hospitalized for a viral infection and this is a viral vaccine - they thought at first it was pancreatitis and i laughed as this dog has the same treats and same dog food for 7 years as my parents do not give him people food or anything different one treat and one dog food for 7 years. They refused to believe it was the vaccine even after i called and also asked why they were vaccinating yearly when it was required for 4 in 1 every 3 years as well. It cost my parents 2,000 for a week in the hospital. He is fine now but my parents will no longer vaccinate him after this and my dad who does no research said to me i swear it was the bordatella shot as that was the only difference

oh and no where on blood work did it indicate pancreatitis - it was confirmed by vet viral infection and they state no clue how it happened lollll

reaction happened within week of vaccinations and reactions to vaccines can happen up to a month after vaccine. There are accute reactions which is anaphylactic shot but there are also reactions that can happen after time in the system
