There are
always internal stitches after any surgery. Some will either use a skin bond like Dermbond or external stitches will need to be removed. Each layer of the skin is closed with a different type of stitch for homeostasis as well as closure. I think a lot of people seem to be under the misconception that the skin is only glued.
