Oh yes, puppies lose teeth, and most of the ones my boys lost did get swallowed...both of them held onto their canine babies though, so you'll probably need to get those pulled eventually. For Joey, they were both pulled, and Tank had one pulled during his neuter, and one was pulled by me about a week previous. (they are both over a year old, we had them neutered after they were fully matured and such)

Pretty much all you can do while they're teething is deal with their moodiness, and try to make them comfy. Joey gets very ornery when he's tired or in pain, so teething for him was not so much fun for us, either - he barked at pretty much everything (as he's doing now, when he's not feeling well because of his neuter stitches)...
