Anyways, YES I trust my Vet and her amazing credentials and would take her advice any day of the week, but also like you do MY own research too on anything I have questions or concerns about because YES they are OUR babies and it gives you more of a piece of mind researching issues yourself as well. I consider myself very lucky to have such a wonderful vet with amazing credentials who also owns Yorkies too and understands the breed.
The Bordatella is the only non-core my Vet recommends as well. My questions are though that I read so many people HIGHLY suggesting to NOT get it and was curious as to why they HIGHLY recommend not getting the Bordatella shot. Yes, the over-vaccinating thing can be a reason why they highly suggest not getting the Bordatella shot but I wanted to hear there thoughts on it as well and the reasons why they highly recommend not getting the shot. |
The bordatella shot is relatively new. I have used the bordatella intranasal vaccine most of B&D's lives and Teddy also had it without a problem. The bordatella is a killed vaccine so that's prob why. Killed vaccines cause many more reactions than modified.
But, having had my friend just lose her 2 year old dog 2 nights ago from vaccines (you can read about Brandi on the RIP thread) I have started to re-think the way I do things in this area. The more you stay around YT, the more of this you'll hear, unfortunately.
