Yes! Lyme disease is quite common here! I did save the nasty bugger and took it to the vet around the corner (who is not my vet). They confirmed it was in fact a tick. (I have never actually seen one in person before.) Both that vet and my vet said that they no longer send the tick out for testing but automatically put the dog on antibiotics just to be safe so I have an appointment for tomorrow.
And you all with be glad to know that I finally got up the courage to go over them all and I don't see any ticks but they are all still getting baths!
