Default New Yorkie Puppy and New to Yorkie Talk

Hi everyone!

I am new to Yorkie Talk. I actually joined BEFORE getting our new little yorkie puppy.

We brought her home last Saturday. She weighs 1 lb. 6 oz. Black and Tan. She is a teeny tiny little girl! Born February 8, 2010.

Our little "baby" is so sweet. Already understanding potty training outside and indoors.

We have named our new "baby"..... "Princess". And the name really fits her well! LOL!!!!

Monday we took her in to the vet for a vet check. I noticed when I bought her, she had a cough and I knew immediately it may definitely be kennel cough. The check up and vet bills are being paid by the seller for our baby's medical care. I just hope this will clear up soon. I know from experience from a puppy i had several years ago, that this will take time to clear up with meds.

I am making sure she is eating, drinking, giving her the meds and also supplimenting with a bit of Nutracal to help boost her system a bit, especially since she is sick.

Princess is full of energy and is a snuggler. She loves her "brother" a pomeranian puppy that is almost 5 months old. Trying not to allow them to get too close even though "Ty" is vaccinated for Kennel Cough. I am well aware he could get this, even with the vaccine.

I am currently trying to find a few things for our new baby. And also looking forward to making both puppies some new toys with squeakers, embroidered with their names on them. Also making them "snuggle sacks that can be rolled down to make a dog bed or laid flat to make a blanket. I also have patterns to make them dog clothes, harnesses and much more. I also make things for our kitties.

I am looking forward to getting to know you all. I know I may have questions about yorkie puppies. I am a "NEW" Mommy with these puppies and it has been since 1995 since I have had a Yorkie or any dog. My precious Yorkie passed away suddenly and it just broke my heart so much that I have not had a dog since then. I have had kitties ever since. I had rescued my past yorkie from someone that overbred her and did not take very good care of her. I almost did not get her, but I feared the owner would put her down if I did not "rescue" her. So, I brought her home, got the care she needed, cleaned her up and loved her for several years until she passed away so suddenly from a heart attack. I have not had a puppy since 1984 or 1985.

I really am enjoying both of our new puppies. I can already tell Princess and Ty will really enjoy each other, once Princess is a little bigger. She already "pretends" she is so much bigger and a fiesty little girl. Funny to watch her!
