Here is a good FAQ about raw-
Raw Feeding FAQ
The way I look at a raw diet is that, in the "wild" dogs were made to eat meat- deer, turkeys, rabbits, etc.
I just got done reading this book-
Amazon.com: Food Pets Die For: Shocking Facts...
and I don't think I could go back to kibble even if I wanted to...
hopefully someone with more knowledge can answer your questions better as I am just learning.
But things I have noticed already after about a week:
1. Poop is smaller- it no longer looks likes it came from a german shepherd. it is also hard which helps with some anal gland issues he had.
2. he teeth are already starting to get better, which is great because I am horrible at brushing them
3. he loves it. He never was a big eater, but is not excited for his food
