Hmmm...it is odd at 7 years of age to start. But if he was close to the cat (my one cat used to play with my Yorkie until I brought home two more Biewers) maybe he is missing the cat.

Does he have any other symptoms that would indicate an illness?

I'm not a Vet and certainly information on the internet isn't always accurate and surely not a replacement for a Vet.

Keep a good eye on him and watch for anything else going on. A quick call to the Vet (or Vet tech) might give you a little peace of mind too.
