I still have the same dilemma as you do. The higher protein foods are to hard on Levi's system. I have tried them all as well with not much success. Levi is currently on Wellness Super Five Mix...but he is not crazy about this either. His favorite so far has been Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul which is questionable because of ethoxyquin issue. I get him to eat better when I drizzle a little salmon oil on his kibble. So I guess we stick to the Wellness for now. You could try the salmon oil...good for the coat and skin and he seems to love it...good luck
