I'm so sorry
What a horrible accident! And that's what it was, you know, an ACCIDENT! Please don't be so hard on yourself. We are all human and NOT perfect. Gracie was well loved and cared for and I know she would not want you to be beating yourself up over what was a tragic accident. If anything, her death will help to prevent others, by reminding all of us to secure the toilet. That's something that I've never really thought about but I will make sure that ours are closed from now on.
