Oklahoma Breeding Bills Passes Major Hurdles Oklahoma SB 1712 has passed significant hurdles as of tonight. Our House of Representatives were in session until very late today and they passed the bill. It has some ammendments and has to go back to the Senate for the ammendments to be approved and then on to the Govenor.
In a nut shell, this bill requires that breeders with 11 or more females to obtain a liscense and sales tax permit. Though millons of dollars are made each year on the sale of puppies by these breeders, they have never paid sales tax or any other kind of tax. It will also provide a minimum standard of care for the dogs/cats. |
