 First play date
Charlie had his first play date today and it was a huge success!!! I'd been reading how puppies need to interact with other dogs and meet lots of people. I've got the people covered. (I have 4 kids and their friends are in and out all the time.)
I was nervous about Charlie being with another dog. We brought him to my friend's house. She has a 7-month old bichon-maltese (or something similar.) He's very friendly but much bigger than Charlie. Charlie did GREAT. He was a little quiet at first but they had so much fun. Running and chasing each other. I'll definitely have to do this once a week with him.
And he's finally figured out (for the most part) about walking on the leash.
I really feel blessed. I was very nervous about getting a puppy. We lost our other dog suddenly last August. I said never again. The kids were heartbroken and so was I. But when this opportunity came up, it just felt right. And he is the perfect fit for our family. |
