That's what i was thinking that velvet may be too heavy. I found some really nice velvet, but the red is not "red" enough. silk may work, but would wrinkle too much.

This is the costume, see how the live action one, it looks all cheesy, I don't want it to look like that. The rope I'm using a very thick upholstery/drapery cording, and the medallion is a disc covered in metallic lambskin. I just don't know what to use for the cape!!!

I asked my client, and I both hate it and love it when they just say, "I trust you, do whatever", but then they don't really give me input.
