I feed Thor Halo. Of all the kibbles we tried (and we tried many), he liked Halo the best. I know it has lower meat than other kibbles out there, but I treat train him every day, and his treats are always some type of meat. He poops really well on that combo. They come out nice and fast, not too hard, not too soft. It's all about the poop for me, 'cause I'm creepy like that.
Sometimes I'll stir a little beef liver power into the mix to give it some zing (mix here referring to the FOOD, not the POOP).
But yes, there is usually a little trail around his bowl where's he's spat out all the pretty little extras in there, like the mini-dried carrots.
