When showing it should be a fair playing field. Like mentioned before the health is more important. |
Just like any group - you will find nice people and not so nice people. You need to communicate and hang out with the nice people. That is like with any group, but please do not make up your mind on the whole group based on one person or a few. They do not make up the whole group. I know some pretty nice members - very nice people! You have to think what is the real reason for doing all this. For the people you would meet or for the breed?? It is then for the betterment of the breed that you go forward. And no - the shows are not always fair All the time, but I do have to say in general - majority of the time - I would have picked the same dogs (for the shows I have attended). Dogs, exhibitors, and judges can all have good days and bad days. Which makes it an opportunity for anyone to win. I have not won on some days and won on some days. But if I did not get out there and try - I would never win.
Sometimes things can be misinterpret - I know at shows I am so focus, I do not talk much to anyone if I am showing. I am thinking I have to be ready and not miss ring time, how will my dog behave today, etc... I have been asked questions by some at a show and I do tend to cut them short and do not mean too. Just anxious and focus and nothing against the person.
