Many people rehome their pets, even yorkies. Sometimes it is the economy. Sometimes they find that they don't have the time that a small dog like a yorkie requires. Yorkies are very people-oriented, social dogs and like to be around people and other animals. There truly are many reasons. You stated your yorkie had a bite mark that was healing. Perhaps this woman had another dog that caused the bite?
You might be right on all accounts. But whatever the reason I got a new walking buddy out of it and my son got a new friend.
