And after all of that you turned her over to a woman you had never met because she used to have a yorkie? Did you do reference checks on her? Did you call her vet to see how she previously cared for her pets? I realize you are not probably experienced in rehoming pups, but it is SO sudden. We would happily have assisted you AFTER you waited a reasonable amount of time to see if her owner could be located. I don't know about your laws, but here we must advertise the pup in the newspaper for three days...some places are a week before rehoming them...AND we must also report to animal control. I am sure you have laws along those lines.
I believe that you should call your local animal control people and report this. Someone very well could be looking for this darling pup.
Someone asked if she has been spayed.....excellent question that I am quite sure you cannot answer. So, ask yourself this, "Do you know for a fact that the woman who has her is not affiliated with a puppy mill or byb?"
Did you call her vet to see if she indeed did take this yorkie there? Did you ask her for her vet information or just believe what she told you?
I am not trying to give you a difficult time....trying to wake you up a bit to the fact that this may not have been a good move for this yorkie. |

I can't believe you people! I came on here to get support and you have totally crucified me. You act like I have harmed this dog, when all I did was try to save it. I brought her into my home, possibly exposing any diseases she might have had to my own dogs, because I had a big enough heart to take her in and feed, bath, and keep her safe until I could re-home her. This women I gave her to is NOT a monster or a byb or owner of a puppy mill. After I called this woman and talked to her in my home, I knew her family. Like I said in an earlier post, this is a small town (population 2000), and I am a school nurse at the school and I know everyone. I have lived here my entire life and am well respected. When this lady came to my house I questioned her just as you are questioning me. I WOULD NOT have put this dog in any harm whatsoever. I HAVE checked with her and she did take the dog to the vet and the vet said she had been spayed. I just called the vet, who happens to be my vet and he confirmed she had brought her in. He also told me she had brought in flyers, in case someone came in and may possibly know the dog. Her goal first and foremost was to make sure she was ok and to start her on Nutrical and then to try and find the owner. You have no right to Judge when you no nothing about the entire situation and seen the dog for yourself. I’m done with this and will no longer comment further. With advice like yours, I don’t need anymore!
