I always figured that animals are considered 'property' and property laws would govern them in the absence of specific legislation. Federal law does supercede state law, however, and laws such as the one being discussed here would be considered 'law of the land'.
Just another example of why animal welfare doesn't need to be dumped on Washington. If they mess it up (as in this case), it gets messed up for everyone and is harder to undo. |
Me too as a couple were for Canada but I will look for an article I posted on YT a number of years ago. AZ was one of the few states that had lawyers.
Well as much as I don't want it dumped in Washington if the industry is still a 94 billion dollar industry then tons of $$$ is flowing in and out of Washington for special interest groups. They count on the public putting their heads into the sand about these awful issues.
